Our mission is Making Minds Sing!
CLCS’s goal is to develop and utilize a new educational model called Learning Through Music (LTM). The LTM model views music as (1) a core, daily subject and (2) a powerful resource for learning across the curriculum. The school’s mission is to use this innovative model to reach children from all backgrounds to help them achieve academic, creative and social success.
How do we accomplish this? First, we offer a first-class education in the traditional subjects of reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. Secondly, each child learns to sing, read, write, and move to music in daily music classes, and all children study the violin twice weekly starting in grade 1. And finally, all of our teachers use ideas and concepts shared between music and all other subjects to learn things more easily and in a fun, joyful way.
