Boston Charter Public Schools

Renaissance, open to all Boston school-age children, has no admission tests or tuition fees, serves 1,280 students from pre-kindergarten through grade 6, and has a waiting list of over 1,800 families. Students are selected by lottery, in March, with preference given to siblings of students already enrolled. Renaissance has three schools: Kinder School—K1 & K2; Primary School—grades 1, 2 and 3; and Elementary School—grades 4, 5 & 6.

Renaissance offers a longer school day than traditional systems with students in school from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. In addition, Renaissance offers optional after school programming for all students, which provides tutoring, quiet time for homework/reading and other meaningful activities.
